Construction Project Accountant/Contract Administrator

Location: Baltimore, MD

Job Description: Concrete Protection & Restoration, Inc. is looking to hire a Project Accountant/Contract Administrator. This position will be responsible for monitoring the progress of projects, investigating variances, approving expenses, and ensuring that project billings are issued to customers and payments collected. In addition, this job position will handle contract administrator duties as needed. We offer comprehensive benefits packages. Salary commensurate with experience.   • Bachelors or Associates degree in accounting or finance, additional qualifications/experience in law preferred
  • Detailed knowledge of project contracts and change order documents
  • At least three (3) years of experience in project accounting
  • Knowledge of the project structure in a client/consultant business environment
  • A thorough knowledge of standard contract terms, including hourly, lumps sum, not-to-exceed, and how they are applied in the billing process and impact costs
  • Effective ability to negotiate and execute contracts
  • Knowledge of legal requirements involved with contracts
  • Proven work experience as a Contract Administrator, Contract Manager or relevant role preferred
  • Experience with Quickbooks and construction accounting/project management software
  • Proficient computer skills, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel)
  • Strict adherence to company guidelines, compliance laws, and legal requirements
  • Excellent analytical and time-management skills
  • Excellent reading, writing, and language comprehension
  • Good interpersonal skills and communication with all levels of management
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently
  • Must be detail-oriented and possess strong organizational skills


  • Maintain project-related records, including contracts and change orders
  • Report on project profitability to management
  • Close out project accounts upon project completion
  • Analyze the P & L accounts on a monthly basis
  • Provide year-end support of auditor requirements, which may include research and reconcilement
  • Work with Project Managers to review project progression, monthly invoices, and budget reconciliations
  • Review and update existing contracts
  • Explain terms and conditions to managers and interested parties
  • Ensure that employees understand and comply with company contracts
  • Analyze potential risks involved with specific contract terms
  • Execute other duties as assigned or requested
