Acid Etching

Concrete CPR uses acid etching for various reasons, primarily to prepare concrete surfaces for coatings, overlays, or decorative finishes. Acid etching creates a textured surface by removing a thin layer of concrete, allowing coatings or overlays to adhere more effectively and achieve better bond strength. Additionally, property owners may opt for acid etching to rejuvenate aging concrete surfaces, remove surface stains or contaminants, and enhance the overall aesthetics of their properties.

Acid etching is a vital preparatory step to ensure optimal results and long-lasting performance. By etching the concrete surface, we remove surface contaminants, oils, grease, and other impurities that may compromise the adhesion of subsequent repair materials or coatings. Acid etching also creates a porous surface that promotes better penetration and bonding of coatings or overlays, resulting in improved durability and resistance to wear and tear.
